Varanasi, the city of lord Shiva is one of the oldest cities known to the human race.It is situated near the bank of river गंगा.It is city of temples with more than 20,000 temples . गंगा in Varanasi is addressed as Mother and is highly worshiped. It is said that if you take a dip in the river all your sins will be washed away. Each and every day a group of priests offer prayers to Lord Shiva and river गंगा which is famously known as गंगा आरती. This is great spectacle for tourists coming from all around the world. These prayers goes on for a duration of 30-45 mins. There are various kind of prayers offered during this period of time . The prayers are offered in various ghats but the most prominent one happens in Dashashwamedh ghat with around 6-7 priests.

2.Shopping in Local markets
If you want to do a handful of shopping when you are on a budget then you should hit the streets of Varanasi. Viswanath Gali,Chauk,Gadaulia are the places to buy fabrics, cheap jewelry.

3.Take a Dip in गंगा
It is believed that taking a dip in गंगा washes away all your sins. So if you are Varanasi take a dip in river just for the record and for fun.

4. Banarasi Paan
The most famous thing on offer in Banaras is the paan. Most common after meal go to thing is the paan which can cost you from 5 to 100 rupees. Don't forget to take a bite of this ultimate delicacy when you are in Varanasi.
5. Boat Ride in गंगा
Feel Refreshed from the gentle breeze amidst of a boat ride blowing over गंगा . A boat ride will cost you around 25 rupees on sharing basis and around 300 if you hire a complete boat.
