Karan Johar is making his directorial comeback with Ae Dil Hai Mushkil. The last time he wore the director's hat was in 2012 with Student Of The Year. And this one is making noise for its outstanding star cast, which has got a thumbs up from every section. Starring Ranbir Kapoor, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Anushka Sharma and Fawad Khan, the film is highly awaited. The makers of the film released some special stills and behind-the-scene images of the film, making us very excited.
Ae Dil hai Mushkil's promo is already the talk of the town ever since it released some time back. Ranbir Kapoor is seen romancing both Aishwarya and Anushka in the film. While his chemistry with Aish is more mature, with Anushka it reminds you of all that young love stories are about. Ranbir and Anushka are teaming up for a second time. They were last year seen in Anurag Kashyap's Bombay Velvet, which sank at the box office without a trace. We hope this one proves lucky for the two.
According to Karan Johar, Ae Dil Hai Mushkil isn't a regular romantic drama. Rather it talks about incomplete, unrequited and one-sided love. KJo has called it one of his most matured films. It is set for a Diwali release, and will clash with Ajay Devgn's Shivaay.
Ranbir is apparently playing a musician in the film. His character's name is Ayan. Anushka is playing Alizeh and Aishwarya's character is named Saba Taliyar Khan.
Karan Johar has also roped in Pakistani actor Fawad Khan to do a special appearance in the film. Fawad had already won much praise for KJo's production Kapoor & Sons this year.
Ranbir and Anushka were on an extensive shoot in London for the film.
The film is high on emotions and we are expecting a lot of tears too. The film's title track and promo showed a love triangle between Aish, Ranbir and Anushka. However, KJo refused to call it a love triangle.
The makers released some adorable stills of Ranbir and Anushka.
Actor Kaushal Kapoor, who plays the role of Anushka’s father in the film, had recently revealed a major plot twist in the film. He said, "In one of the scenes, when Ranbir tries to fix up Anushka and Fawad’s marriage, I lose my temper and throw them out of the house. As Ranbir persists that I agree to the marriage, I slap him."
The promo has left us intrigued. We saw intimate moments between Anushka-Fawad and Aishwarya-Ranbir. But we are still guessing as to what Anushka was doing with Ranbir. Does it hint that she has feelings for him?
While the film is high on emotions, its behind-the-scenes moments are equally funny. Check out this image of Anushka from the film's sets.
Karan Johar had in May shared the first still of the film. It was a gift he gave to Anushka on her birthday. She is seen reading a book at a window and looking as fresh as dew.
Music composer Pritam had few days back shared how Ae Dil Hai Mushkil's title track was used in Salman Khan's Bajrangi Bhaijaan. He said in an interview, "I had composed two options for the title track. One is the same title track Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, as you hear it now. Since the choice was made, the other track was used in Bajrangi Bhaijaan. So, if you take "Kyunki tu dhadkan main dil" you can easily put it as "Kyunki ae dil hai mushkil". So, I had composed that song as an option for ADHM."
The makers also released a split image of Ranbir-Anushka reminding us of the hit film Chandni starring Rishi Kapoor-Sridevi. Does that mean KJo has used a track in the film from Ranbir's father's film? Well, maybe!
Karan Johar has also confirmed that his good friend and superstar Shah Rukh Khan has an extended cameo in the film. According to reports he plays Aishwarya's husband who dies in the film. Ouch!
The film also stars Lisa Haydon, Deepti Naval and another Pakistani actor Imran Abbas. Its second song titled "Bulleya" is set to release on the coming weekend. It will take Ranbir-Aishwarya's chemistry to newer heights.
